SPOTLIGHT ON YONGWON

Life at Stanley 1913 is…

Stanley 1913 thrives on rapid growth and solving challenges every day and at the same time, provides exciting opportunities. This environment encourages me to maximize my capabilities, respond flexibly to changes and to always be prepared and think one step ahead. The feeling that I have developing personally alongside the company’s rapid growth is very satisfying and the experience of moving toward greater goals in collaboration with my team makes my life more valuable.

What inspires you? (inside of work, outside of work)

One of the most inspiring aspects of a fast-growing business environment is the dynamic connection with the people I work with. In particular, the moments when I gain new insights or discover ways I have never thought of while working with colleagues from different perspectives and experiences are incredibly valuable. In this setting, I think the process of supporting each other’s growth and achieving goals together is an important factor that motivates not only me, but everyone I have the pleasure of working with.

What is some advice you would give to someone who is just joining Stanley 1913?

What I really want to say to the newcomer who just joined: “Please, don’t be impatient and move at your own pace. It’s natural to feel grateful and touched by the amazing achievements of existing team members, but I don’t want you to feel discouraged or lose confidence. Our achievements also started from someone’s first step and it’s you who will produce even greater results in the future. I hope you trust yourself, wait for the opportunity to demonstrate your capabilities and grow step by step.”

Tell us how you’re able to be a creator, builder, or inventor in your role?

As a sales director, becoming a creator, builder or inventor goes beyond just selling to existing customers. I have the opportunity to present and create new value to teams, businesses, and customers based on creative thinking (such as new business models), strategic planning and execution (such as building team capabilities) and deep insight into markets and consumers (such as consumer experience innovation).
